Petia Dimitrova

Petia Dimitrova is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of the Management Board of Postbank (Bulgaria) since 2012. In 2023, she was also elected Chair of the Management Board of the Association of Banks in Bulgaria.

Ms. Dimitrova holds two master’s degrees in Finance and Banking and Tourism from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, respectively. She also holds an EMBA from the University of Sheffield and has completed executive management programs at Harvard Business School, the University of Oxford, and INSEAD, among others.

Ms. Dimitrova is the recipient of numerous awards that recognize both her professional accomplishments and personal contribution to the development of Postbank and the Bulgarian economy. She is a two-time winner of the prestigious “Mrs. Economy” award and a six-time recipient of the “Banker of the Year” award. She has also received the Atanas Burov Foundation Award for excellence in banking and financial management.

Under her leadership, Postbank has earned nearly 100 prestigious Bulgarian and international awards, including a Gold Award for Outstanding Customer Experience in Banking at the Retail Banking: Europe 2019 Awards. The bank is a recognized leader in the retail banking sector and has won the title “Best Retail Bank in Bulgaria” from World Finance Magazine for seven consecutive years. Over the past four years, the same publication has also consistently named Postbank “Best Digital Bank in Bulgaria.”
